Aurivo Ballaghadereen (2018)

This working platform supports a Liebherr LR1130 Crawler Crane (130t) with track pressures of 400kPa.

A 1200mm thick granular base was constructed over soft glacial sub-grade with CBRs of 2% and an undrained shear strength of 40kPa. The granular base is reinforced with 2 layers of WG80 woven geotextile which acts as a separator and a reinforcing membrane.

Athy, River Barrow

On the west abutment, the working platform measures 21m long * 16.4m wide. It supported a Lierbherr LR1600/2 crawler crane.

The east abutment access track and working platform measures 50m long * 18.7m wide, and supported a Liebherr LR1350/1 crawler crane.

A tandem lifting scheme was developed to install a 2 * 80m long, 250 tonne steel bridge deck over the River Barrow.
